9 dams and water barriers have been established to benefit from rainwater in many remote areas with dense population and where water services are not available; in the areas of Bani Hajr, Al-Sayh, Shaab Al-Zafar, Al-Wadi area, Bait Al-Sweed area and other areas of the Republic of Yemen, during the period from 2017 to 2020 , in order to alleviate from the suffering of the families and women and children who bring water on their heads and on donkeys from long and arduous distances especially in the summer, and the number of beneficiaries of these projects reached about 15,000.
This project aims to contribute to working on strengthening the water infrastructure and supporting local authorities in the targeted areas by collecting and storing water and making use of rainwater to provide potable water and irrigate arable land and livestock, thus achieving water security.
